RAF Wainfleet Tactical Targets
Installation of Land Rover

All Images © ESAG 2007
The Land Rover is towed out to the site - about 1.5 miles from the tower.
Steel tracking is used to prevent the vehicle from sinking (hopefully).
Steve, Kev and Colin fight with the tracking (1 - 0 to the tracking).

The JCB is used to raise the the vehicle ..........

.......... so that the wheels can be removed and the axles positioned on the tracking.
Scaffolding poles are used to secure the tracking to the ground and the vehicle to the tracking and ground.
A total of 6 poles are required to anchor the vehicle in what will become a very hostile environment in just a few hours time. Pete (Serco site manager)stands at a discreet distance to observe and make sure that safety procedures are observed, it's a long way back to the compound and help.
Steve (left) and Colin bathe in the glory of yet another job well done!
Time to rtb for tea and muffins!
The target stands ready for action.
